Orange Health Benefits

Oranges are loved by people but some are not very much attracted to it. As everyone knows orange is abundant source for vitamin C? That's not enough! Here follows the list of other health benefits of orange.

1) Orange contains Beta carotene, which is a powerful antioxidant guarding the health of our cells.
2) Orange contains Calcium, which a school going knows how important is in healthy bones and teeth's.
3) Our brain needs folic acid for proper development which is found in Oranges.
4) Blood pressure can be kept in balance with magnesium found in Oranges.
5) To maintain a healthy cardiovascular system and to maintain electrolyte balance of cells, one can eat oranges for potassium it provides.
6) The food we take is converted into energy by thiamin found in orange.

Important tip :
The skin or the pith of the orange has as much vitamin c as the orange so one must try to eat it. You can add some spices to it, if you think it is not edible.

  2. Oranges are good for you, but anything in excess or minimal is bad. Great information, though. =]

  3. If I may add, vitamins from fruits like orange are very helpful in boosting our immune sytem. So it means they also act as the protectors of our body against bad bacteria. My cosmetic dentist (Raleigh, NC-based) told me that eating foods which are rich in vitamins can avoid having abscesses and other gum problems.

  4. 4 oranges a day is not excess..

    When I eat oranges, I eat about 10-15 of them in one sitting. But then again, I don't eat any explicit fats so my pancreas and liver are able to handle the amount of fruit sugars.

    I use the same method for eating other fruits too... i.e. 10 mangoes in one sitting, one big papaya, a dozen bananas, etc. I have never felt better, or looked better.

  6. I've heard that juice of oranges contain 200% of vitamin C. if that is true then it is way too good for the health.

  9. I'm wondering if I can just still with orange juice. I don't want to buy real oranges and going through the painful process of peeling them.
